Strategies for strengthening child-caregiver attachment when supporting families impacted by trauma


The talk is devoted to the relationship between traumatic events, eating behaviors, eating disorders and obesity. The weaknesses and strengths of current diagnostic classifications (DSM-5-TR and ICD-11) and key epidemiological data will be discussed. Focal points will be examined: genetics and epigenetics, assessment and treatment, risk and protective factors, stigma of obesity, clinical manifestations in relation to sex and gender, temperament, character, and personality.

BIO MASSIMO CUZZOLARO
Born in Rome on March 10, 1946. Physician, psychiatrist and psychotherapist has taught psychiatry and clinical psychology and directed a center for eating disorders and obesity at Rome Sapienza University. In 1991 he was among the founders of the Italian Society for the Study of Eating Disorders (SISDCA) and served as its president. He was among the founders of the Italian Obesity Society (SIO). He founded and edited for 25 years the international journal Eating and Weight Disorders. Studies on Anorexia Bulimia Obesity (Springer Publishing). He is the author or co-author of more than 350 scientific publications and fifteen books.
